An innovative educational institution of a new format will be built in Nur-Sultan. The ceremony of laying the capsule of the future university was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov, Minister of Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Head of the Metropolitan Department of Education Kasymkhan Sengazyev, representatives of BI Group and members of the delegation of Michigan State University headed by Provost Steven Hanson.
The university will train highly qualified personnel of international level in the field of education, construction and architecture. The partner in the development of the project is the University of Michigan, which is a leading research educational facility (U.S. News&World Report top 100) and is among the top 10 educational institutions in the United States according to the QS 2022 subject rating and the Shanghai ARWU rating.
Given the high need for strong personnel, today the new university, in addition to bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs, will offer short-term Continuing Education courses. Such courses will allow specialists to obtain certification and knowledge in new directions or improve their qualifications. In addition, the university will engage in scientific and research activities in the field of education quality, new technologies, construction and architecture.
The university campus will be located in the Esil district, along Turan Avenue. As part of the first stage of the project, an academic block for 2 thousand seats and a dormitory for 500 people will be built. In the long term, it is planned to build a full-fledged campus for 20 thousand students with all the necessary infrastructure, including parks, sports and recreational facilities, laboratories, a technopark, a business incubator, etc. Completion of the first stage of construction is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.

Now the methodology and training program of the new university in Nur-Sultan will be created. The development of such an international-level project has a long-term perspective."
The new university will be built at the expense of private investment.Recall that in January of this year, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to open at least 5 branches of advanced foreign universities in Kazakhstan by 2025.
