The infrastructure of the
capital is developing rapidly and the number of outdoor enthusiasts is growing
every day. Special lanes for cyclists appeared in the capital for security
purposes, along which there were installed convenient litterbins and parking
spaces.
Seven regions of Kazakhstan
presented the capital with a bicycle lane to the 20th anniversary of Astana. The
length of which is 56 km. These regions are Atyrau, Turkestan, North
Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Kostanay, Akmola and Zhambyl regions.
The lane for cyclists begins
on the territory of the Central Park - from the new Atyrau Bridge, then it runs
along Mangilik El Avenue, Kunayev Street, Dostyk Street, Kabanbay Batyr Avenue,
Ryskulov Street, along the Astana-Karkaraly road and south-west of Lake
Taldykol to Korgaldzhin highway.
By order of the Turkestan region, the division of the ICC of the BI
Construction company laid a 5 km 170 m bicycle lane. Its width varies from 1.5
m to 3 m, and its thickness is 3 cm. Two metal bridges were built on the
territory of the central park and under the bridge of Kabanbay Batyr Avenue in
order to continue the bicycle lane.
“Some residents of Astana mistakenly assume that bicycle lanes are made of
tartan, but they are not. Tartan is often used for treadmills and on
playgrounds to mitigate strikes and touchdowns. According to the project, the
bike lane in Astana consist of a hot dense mixture of fine-grained asphalt
concrete of the type B. The red color of asphalt is a colored pigment made in
Holland,” Zhanabil Bayzhigitov, project leader noted.
In addition, along the bike lanes, there are 22 solar-powered benches with a
charger for smartphones, WI-FI and Bluetooth, as well as 52 bins and parking
lots for cyclists.
BI Group was
glad to become part of such large-scale project dedicated to the capital’s day
and to contribute to the development of the infrastructure of the city of
Astana. As a sports-oriented company, the BI Group invites everyone to try out
the newest safe bike lanes.
