BI Road Construction completed capital repair of Leninsky-
Aksu-Koktobe-Bolshoy Akzhar-Kurchatov road section. The
company fully restored 80-99 km and 115-120 km sections.
These road sections are 24 km long located in the Maysky district of
Pavlodar region. After repair the road attained the III category and
became 7 m wide with improved capital coating made of fine-graded
asphalt concrete. Design speed is 100 km/h. Renovation works have
been started in May last year and completed 2 months earlier than the
deadline.

«We understood that the road is very important to ensure transport
links between districts for regional and local cargo and passenger
traffic. That`s why we tried to complete these works as soon as
possible meeting all quality requirements”, ‒ said Head of Pvlodar
branch of ABK-Avtodor NS division, Azamat Birseitov.

Using own laboratory with strict quality and standard control builders
managed to implement the technology armoring the road. The main
component is coal ash. Builders poured it to the first and additional
layers of the road base together with cement, ground and crushed
stone.

Senior laboratory worker, Kurbanbek Umrzakov: “Ash is
transported from GRES-1 in Ekibastuz, which if left after coal
processing. Therefore, its waste due to the technology can be recycled
and useful. We add cement to armor the road base within short time,
while ash is strengthening by the time, it means the more time passes,
the stronger layers are. Taking into account that the local soil has
much clay loam, we need additional strength!”.

Other inert materials are produced in Maikayin village. The Section
Head, Nurdaulet Kassenov, said that the project has been
implemented by 93 men and 40 machine units.
Reconstruction of section is not only laying of the road bed, but also
auxiliary works: viaducts, junctions and bus stops.
